Me Especially

You do not really understand something unless you can explain it to your grandmother. ~Proverb

The other day Jake was talking to his mom on the phone. Joshua hung by his side until he had the chance to talk. And when he got ahold of the phone, he didn’t want to let go. He talked. And talked. And talked.

When my boys talk on the phone they cannot sit still. They pace. They wander. They roam. Around the house, down hallways, up stairs, through doorways. I watched as Joshua mapped the house during his conversation with Grandma. I don’t know what he told her. But I heard the constant drone of his voice, which told me that he was doing most of the talking. She probably couldn’t get a word in edgewise.

Grandma Earle is a favorite around our home. She’s diligent with holiday cards and packages; packages filled with mini treasures and little treats in baggies, enough to satisfy Josh’s sweet tooth {which takes some doing}.

When we visit, her kitchen is always stocked with just the right foods for growing boys and their appetites.

Jacob has had the opportunity to visit with Grandma and Grandpa on several occasions during his travels and his relationship with them is a special one. The other boys are looking forward to their turn.

Today, we’d all like to wish Grandma a Happy Birthday!

But me especially.

She is the mother to the most amazing man in the world. She is a fabulous grandmother to my children. Thank you. I love you Kathy.
